We’ve talked before about how imperative it is to set positive intentions if we hope to succeed in life– both professionally and personally. We wanted to take the time to talk more in depth about affirmations and setting intentions. Honestly, the idea of affirmations scared us a little at first; so don’t worry if you have your reservations. We totally get it! It sounds strange– you want us to repeat the same phrase everyday? Like I’m talking to myself? Um no. But it really does help! Visualization leads to realization.Here are Rhett Power’s “3 Affirmations Successful People Repeat Every Day.” We think they are pretty spot on!
  1. “I expect to win. I deserve to win.” Don’t let low expectations (or no expectations) ruin your productivity. Set the bar high and you will work even harder to achieve your goals. Remind yourself everyday that you CAN and WILL succeed. A common mistake is setting lower expectations in the hopes of avoiding disappointment. But all you’re doing here is hindering your own chances. The more you visualize your own success, the more likely it will actually happen. A fruitful endeavor takes hard work and time, but helping yourself along by setting positive intentions will go a long way.
  2. “I will not care what other people think.” One of the biggest downfalls in our lives is letting the negative opinions of others affect how we operate. Fear of what people will think is not a good driving force– in fact, it is quite the opposite. If you are constantly worried about other people, you won’t get nearly as much done. You’ll be too afraid to keep going down your own path. Let go of your inhibitions and pursue what YOU know is right for you and your work.
  3. “I can’t do everything today, but I can take one small step.” Distractions are a huge part of life– we seriously can’t get through an entire day without wanting to check on the latest news or pop culture mishap. Understanding that you won’t be able to finish everything in one day is key. If you have a lot of work to do, don’t feel like you HAVE to complete everything on your list for the week in one day. Take it step by step and chip away at it little by little. That way, you will stay productive throughout the whole week and your work will still be finished at the end of it. The best thing you can do for yourself is to set goals and work actively to achieve them. If you are feeling distracted or absent minded, feel free to check social media or watch a YouTube video to let off some steam. You will come back to your work with a fresh attitude and more energy to spare.
At the end of the day, successful affirmations are high key helpful in altering your subconscious mindset. They will help you WANT to succeed.
